How to place an Off Camera Flash correctly

Posted by Bryan Dunn on

If you need to make a particular photo look more natural, you should think of the source of the light wisely. Most of the time, we get light from above and there are plenty of examples to think of right? So, if you are thinking of utilizing an off-camera flash, you should place it above the subject you are going to capture. As long as the light source is placed above the subject, you can change the other angles without worrying about anything. Be sure that you don’t place the light below the subject level unless you do it for a special purpose. You must think of the overall shape of the light too. They key is to prevent from overdoing it even if you place it above the subject’s level.
